The Democratic Party runs on volunteers. Working-class families and individuals who organize alongside their neighbors to build a better future. Below are some ways you can get involved with the local party.
Become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar
Texas is one of the few states that does not allow online voter registration. The one exception is renewing or updating your driver’s license using the Texas Department of Public Safety website. Texans must obtain a paper copy of the application and mail it in or happen across voter registrars who get them signed up.
Becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar is a great first step to getting involved. You can take the training online at your convenience and can begin registering voters a few days later when you get your certificate online.
Once you become a VDR you can participate with your fellow precinct members when we block walk in our neighborhood. Asking folks if they are registered to vote is an easy way to get our foot in the door and potentially get them involved with future organizing.
