  • Riverside Democrats Neighborhood Clean-Up

Join the Riverside Democrats on Saturday, June 20th, for a community trash cleanup and beach day!

Bring a sack lunch and meet in the parking lot of Ruiz Branch Library at 10am on Saturday, June 20th. Trash bags and gloves will be provided in order to walk down Grove and Riverside Drive to give back to our community by doing a bit of beautifying! After about an hour of picking up trash, we’ll head to Guerrero Park, take a short hike down to Secret Beach with our lunches, and spend the rest of the afternoon socializing by the water.

Swimsuits, folding chairs, beach towels, sunscreen, and bug spray are all encouraged! Make sure to wear any Democratic Party (or related) apparel if you have any. Gather with your fellow Democrats to give back on this Juneteenth weekend and then spend some fun in the sun. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times!

If you would like a Riverside Democrats T-shirt, email lucian.villasenor@gmail.com. We ask for a $10 donation.

  • County Commissioner Precinct 4 Candidate Forum

Candidate forum hosted by the Riverside Democrats. This forum is designed to bring candidates George Morales III and Susanna Ledesma-Woody together in a structured, community-facing setting that gives voters a direct look at where they stand.

As Commissioner Margaret Gomez is retiring after holding the position for over 31 years, this is a huge opportunity for our community to put someone in that affects Travis county budget, infrastructure, emergency services, and public health.

  • May 2nd Candidate Forum

Join us Saturday, May 2nd at 5pm to hear from the two candidates in the County Commissioner Precinct 4 runoff. As Commissioner Margaret Gomez is retiring after holding the position for over 31 years, this is a huge opportunity for our community to put someone in that affects Travis county budget, infrastructure, emergency services, and public health.

Spanish translation will be available, and there will be time for audience questions. Early voting begins May 18, and Election Day is May 26.

The 2026 Primaries are fast approaching, with election day (Tuesday, March 3) less than 3 weeks away!

Because Texas is strongly partisan in many areas, the primary often decides the eventual winner, especially for state and local offices. In Travis County, the Democratic primary is frequently the decisive election for local roles.

This year’s elections are big ones in Texas, with contests at the Federal (US Senate & House), Statewide Executive Offices, and Local Level up for grabs. A great resource to better understand the candidates on the ballot and their positions is the League of Women Voters Guide that you can find here. After the recent redistricting, we are now in US House District 37, Texas House District 51, Texas Senate District 14, and State Board of Education District 5. Early voting hours are: Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 – Saturday, February 21st, 2026 (7am – 7pm) Sunday, February 22nd (12pm – 6pm) Monday, February 23rd, 2026 – Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 (7am – 7pm) Thursday, February 26th – Friday, February 27th (7am – 7pm) Election Day voting is Tuesday, March 2nd from 7am-7pm

You may vote at an voting location in Travis County, and the closest voting locations to our neighborhood are Austin City Hall, the South Austin Recreation Center and Dan Ruiz Branch Library. You can find a full list of polling sites here.
